What Are You Grateful For?
My son’s 18th birthday. Me? Up at 3:30am, vending machine breakfast before boarding a 5:30 flight to Dallas Fort Worth.
We got to have dinner with him the night before. Nice BBQ on the back patio. Watched him open his present, listened to him talk about the college dorm he’d be moving into in a few weeks.
Dallas Fort Worth? 90 degrees. Oh – but it will be down to 80 by 8.
8am.
Once at the hotel, the 1 hour sync meeting ran 2 hours.
A fun 2 hours of real collaboration and teamwork.
No lunch, but was too involved to notice or care.
Dinner was a table for 1 at Chili’s.
It was exactly what I needed.
Great waitperson. Tasty burger, Stella on tap.
John Mellencamp playing on the radio.
I (wrongly) heard the lyric as “Still hate deceit enough to say looks who’s in the big town'”.
If we ever get together for a beer or coffee, please let me bend your ear about growing up in Glen Ellen. Now that’s a small town.
I wouldn’t trade this for the world.
I’ve been a remote worker for a dozen years. Have gotten a lot of quality time with the family.
Very little time commuting.
I work for a company with an incredible solution.
One that I’m proud to promote and help people gain value from.
I work with people that I respect. People that challenge me to be even better at what I do.
Long day, tired, but oh so happy.
I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
What are you grateful for?
